GOVERNMENT will spend more than $150 million to construct 131 bridges around the country, says Acting Housing and Infrastructure Minister Lawrence Sichalwe.
Mr Sichalwe said the construction of the bridges was scheduled to start in the second quarter of this year.
The minister told the House yesterday, that the total cost of $151.3 million would include assessment, designs and labour.
He said this in response to a question for oral answer by UPND Kabompo Member of Parliament Ambrose Lufuma who wanted to find out progress on plans to construct bridges across the country.
He said he would in due course issue a comprehensive statement to inform the House on where the 131 bridges would be located.
