Fresh from threatening University of Zambia and Copperbelt University lecturers and students with closure of the two institutions, President Edgar Lungu has turned his guns to civil servants, threatening them with dismissal if they "hinder government's efforts".
Speaking at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Airport in Ndola before his departure to Lusaka after a three day working visit, President Lungu said he will not tolerate or entertain any government employees to be detractors of government's agenda.
He said he will ensure that those frustrating governments' efforts are removed from both Local Government and Central Government.
"I have heard people saying no we are harassing people.. but, as a civil servant you are our employee… we will remove you, that is what we will do… They lie to you that filufyanye (mess things up) we will bring you back in 2021, they are lying to you, mukaloba ilya uma nangu ilya bola (you will catch a dry or rotten fish). I can tell you this they are not coming in 2021 because Zambians have seen who they are," President Lungu boasted.
"Those who are sabotaging government programmes we will remove you, we do not mind whether you work for the council or in central government we will remove you because twanaka (we're fade up), Thank you Very Much!!"
