President Edgar Lungu has appointed and sworn in Major General Benedict Kalinda as new Deputy Zambia Airforce Commander.
And President Lungu has urged the newly appointed Deputy ZAF commander to be loyal to those above him and the State.
President Lungu said this during the swearing in ceremony of Major Kalinda at State House.
The President also urged Major General Kalinda to always seeks guidance whenever need arises.
President Lungu noted that some opposition political parties maybe relatives or friends but that should not lead to an officer to be disloyal to the Government.
And, speaking in an interview shortly after the swearing in ceremony, Major General Kalinda said he is ready to be loyal and work with Government to enhance the operations of the Airforce and improve the welfare of the personnel in the Airforce.
He stated that he will ensure that there is prudent use of resources within the Airforce and also protect the country’s airspace from internal and external threats.
Major General Kalinda also said that he will work to create an enabling environment that will contribute to investment in flow.
